Intake
Our journey together will begin with a free intake session. In these 30 minutes, we will get to know each other and determine your goals for tutoring. For me, it’s important that there is a connection since we’ll be working closely together. If you have any questions, you should feel safe to ask them during all classes. Learning can only take place if you feek capable and supported!
For minors, it might be helpful if a parent or guardian is present during the intake. This allows you to meet the tutor who will work with your child. Additionally, your input can be invaluable, particularly with organizational matters and in addressing any learning difficulties your child may be facing.
Action plan
When you decide to work with me after your intake, I will create a personalized action plan for you. This plan will outline the goals we aim to achieve, the methods we will use to accomplish them, and the materials we will utilize.
It will also detail the agreements we make, including policies for cancellation and payment. Once you sign it and send it back to me, we can begin our learning journey to work towards achieving your goals!
Online classes
Online classes offer a great deal of flexibility to your schedule. Have you got a free period at school and want to fill it with something useful to reduce your homework load? Or perhaps you’d like to enjoy a class from the comfort of your own room with a nice drink? All of this is possible. Classes can be conducted in English or Dutch, as I am at native speaker level of both.
The online classes can be conducted through various media, like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet, depending on your preference. With a drawing tablet, I can effortlessly draw chemical structures and write down mathematical equations. Moreover, a second screen allows me to draw and write on one screen while keeping you on the other, ensuring we do not lose our connection.
What to expect
Online classes differ from face-to-face tutoring, but with our webcams on, I am still able to have a real connection with you. My goal is to motivate and coach you, creating a safe and creative environment where you can fully immerse yourself in learning. Remember, there are no dumb questions, and I am more than happy to explain concepts in different way until you fully understand them. My sole goal is to help you achieve yours.
In my teaching, I utilize a variety of tools including images, graphs, games, and apps, as combining visual aids with hands-on activities is a highly effective learning method. Your brain learns best through experience, not just by listening. While I will provide explanations, my approach is interactive rather than lecture-based. Through asking questions and guiding you towards the answers, I will teach you step-by-step how to solve equations and exercises on your own.
